Here is some of the tweaking I did to speed up my Windows:
> Getting bored with the menu delays is really annoying. Decrease the time to load menu transitions through right clicking your desktop. Choose Properties and Choose the Effects tab. Unmark the Animate windows menu lists. For those who use Windows XP, you can do this by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting Properties, choosing the Appearance tab, choosing the Effects option and deselect Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Click OK.
> Speed up Windows Start Up by cleaning out the applications you dont need at start-up. For Windows 98 users, this could be done by means of Start menu and clicking Run. Then enter MSConfig.exe and then choose OK. Hit the Start up tab then unmark the softwares you wish to discontinuethroughout the startup. You see, you may be able to speed start up Windows if you cut down the softwares that computer needs to load.
> Defragment also helps to speed up your PC. Find the defragement option on the System Tools. Be sure that you dedicate a time for defragging. Using various applications while on defrag restricts the process itself.
> Prefering to install your applications would be best if you always experience errors. Always scan your PC for viruses before backing up any files. Also, make sure that you have a back up copy of your harware drives before erasing files from your hard drvies Reinstalling your program takes at least an hour or so
> Removing programs that you do not use. Applications, whether you are making use of them or not, take up space in your hard disk. If you arent utilizing them, then remove them.
